Florida Senator Rick Scott backs House Freedom Caucus Push to Pass the SAVE America Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator Rick Scott is emerging as one of the leading voices in the U.S. Senate fighting for passage of the SAVE America Act, arguing the legislation is essential to preserving the integrity of American elections and securing the nation’s future.

The Florida Republican has been actively advocating for the bill in public appearances, media interviews, and on the Senate floor, emphasizing what he calls the urgent need for stronger election safeguards. The SAVE America Act would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and establish stricter voter identification standards nationwide.

Scott has framed the legislation as a necessary response to growing concerns about election security. “We have to pass the SAVE America Act,” Scott said in recent remarks, stressing that the bill is vital to ensuring confidence in U.S. elections.

In pushing for the bill, Scott has repeatedly tied its passage to broader concerns about border security and illegal immigration. In a previous statement, he warned that the United States is facing unprecedented challenges and argued that election safeguards must keep pace. “We have a wide open southern border,” Scott said, adding that ensuring only citizens vote is a fundamental responsibility of the federal government.

Scott has also highlighted what he describes as the common-sense nature of the proposal. “Americans want the SAVE America Act passed and signed into law,” he said, pointing to public support for stronger voter identification requirements.

The senator has been working alongside fellow Republicans to rally support for the measure, which already passed the House earlier this year and is now facing a challenging path in the Senate. Debate over the bill has intensified in recent weeks, with Republicans arguing it will protect election integrity, while Democrats contend it could make voting more difficult for some Americans.

Despite the political hurdles, Scott has remained firm in his commitment to advancing the legislation. He has called on Senate leadership to prioritize the bill and bring it to a vote, even as procedural obstacles like the filibuster threaten to stall its progress.

“This is about the future of our country,” Scott said. “If we don’t have confidence in our elections, nothing else works.”

As the Senate continues to debate the SAVE America Act, Scott’s leadership is helping keep the issue at the forefront, underscoring the high stakes surrounding one of the most closely watched legislative battles of the year.
