Immigration continues to exist as one of the thorniest issues in Washington.
There is a constant push and pull over what America’s immigration policy should look like.
House Freedom Caucus members like Texas Congressman Chip Roy argue that America’s immigration system should work for the benefit of America and Americans.
Roy maintains that part of being an American is supporting America’s fundamental values.
That’s why Roy introduced the Mamdani Act, which would allow the government to block the admission or naturalization of any alien who is affiliated with or advocated for the Chinese Communist Party, any Communist party, any socialist party and any Islamic fundamentalist group.
Breitbart reported that the bill would also allow the government to deport any alien who “has engaged, is engaged, or at any time after admission engages in advocacy for Communism, Chinese Communism, socialism, Marxism, or Islamic fundamentalism; writes, distributes, circulates, prints, displays, possesses, or publishes any written, electronic, or printed matter that advocates those ideologies or that is on behalf of or advocates for such parties; or is, has been, or becomes a member of or affiliated with such parties or organizations.”
Roy named the bill after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who was born in Uganda, is a Muslim and who is a member of the Democrat Socialist of America political party.
In a statement to Breitbart, Roy defended his bill contending that America’s immigration system shouldn’t import anyone into the country who holds beliefs that are fundamentally in opposition to America’s culture and value system.
“Why do we continue to import people who hate us? Not just for the last six years, but for the last 60 years, our immigration system has been cynically used to disadvantage American workers’ competitiveness in favor of mass-importing the third world. This has not just led to higher crime and lower wages, but also the promulgation of hostile ideologies fundamentally opposed to American values,” Roy began.
Roy went on to say that his bill could prevent America from experiencing the transformation that Europe experienced when it opened its borders to mass migration from Muslim countries.
